How it works.

At Macias Dermatology, we work with gold standard laser technology that is safe for all skin types and effectively treats a range of hair densities (fine, medium and thick). Laser hair removal cannot treat grey, white, blond or some red hair colors. The fast and comfortable treatments work by targeting hair follicles with heat energy delivered via a laser beam. This heat causes inflammation that puts the hair into the telogen (resting) phase—essentially arresting itsgrowth. In order to target the hair in its anagen (growth) phase, a series of treatment sessions spaced 4-12 weeks apart (depending on the area being treated) is recommended to realizeoptimal hair reduction. Some redness and swelling over the treatment area can be expected, but will dissipate within a few hours.
