Electronic skin cancer therapy is a state-of-the-art alternative to surgery, used for the treatment of basal cell and squamous cell skin cancers, as well as certain other skin disorders. After an assessment by a radiation oncologist to establish the extent of your cancer and candidacy for treatment, an individualized treatment plan is created. The number and length of your treatments will vary depending on the size, location and type of cancer. Treatments are usually scheduled twice each week for approximately four weeks. Superficial radiation is delivered painlessly and precisely to the targeted cancer using a miniaturized electronic X-ray, thus minimizing exposure to surrounding skin and organs.
