When I founded Macias Dermatology in 2011, the vision was simple. I wanted to bring the rigorous, evidence-based medicine I trained in home to the Central Valley, and to practice it the way I have always believed medicine should be practiced: unhurried, honest, and deeply personal. We built this practice on tenets of respect, exceptional experience and sound medicine, and they have guided every decision since.

Macias Dermatology was founded in Fresno in 2011 by Dr. Edgar S. Macias, a cum laude graduate of the University of Southern California, a Doctor of Medicine from Harvard Medical School, surgically trained at the University of California, San Francisco, board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and a board-certified Mohs surgeon.
The practice was built around a conviction that has never changed: a strong patient-physician partnership is the foundation of your skin's health, and of its beauty in turn. It shapes how we consult, how we treat, and how we design the experience of being in our care.

Every treatment plan at Macias Dermatology is developed under the direction of a Harvard-trained, board-certified dermatologist. Dr. Macias is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, has taught and written throughout his career on topics in medical dermatology, and authored the cover article of the March 2011 issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.
Around him stands a handpicked clinical team of physician assistants and nurse practitioners, selected as much for the way they care as for the credentials they carry, and constantly evolving their craft to reflect the newest advances in general, surgical and cosmetic dermatology.

Dr. Edgar S. Macias is the founder of Macias Dermatology. He graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California with an honors degree in Psychobiology, earned his medical doctorate from Harvard Medical School, and received surgical training during his internship in general surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, before completing his training in medical and cosmetic dermatology in New York City.

We care for the full spectrum of your skin's health: medical, surgical and cosmetic. On the medical side, that includes general dermatology for everyday conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, vitiligo and rashes, the removal of moles and skin tags, skin cancer screenings, Mohs surgery and non-surgical skin cancer therapy, and narrow band UVB and photodynamic therapy, and the pulse dye laser for rosacea and vascular lesions, cared for over time by a team that knows your history.
Our cosmetic practice includes wrinkle relief (Botox, Daxxify, Jeuveau and Dysport), dermal fillers, laser hair removal, microneedling with Platelet-Rich Plasma, chemical peels, HydraFacial MD, DiamondGlow, and physician-guided skin care.
Yes. Dr. Macias is fluent in Spanish, and care is offered in both English and Spanish.

We are open Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
We accept CareCredit, and our front desk will gladly walk you through your options before any treatment begins.
