As Valley temperatures climbed toward summer, ABC30 reporter Amanda Aguilar turned to Macias Dermatology for straight answers on laser hair removal. “At Macias Dermatology in northeast Fresno, interest in the treatment happens year-round,” the station reported.

Nurse practitioner Michelle Porte-Garcia explained why the treatment is not for everyone: the laser targets the pigment of the hair follicle, so it only works on darker hairs. She also urged viewers to vet their providers carefully, noting the corrections she sees after bargain treatments elsewhere.

Her favorite part of the treatment is the reaction. “The number one feedback that I get from all my patients is ‘Why didn’t I do this sooner.’”
