Laser Hair Removal

Razors, wax and tweezers ask for your time every week and give little back. A series of laser hair removal treatments is a lasting answer: smooth skin, without the upkeep.

A lasting answer to unwanted hair.

Most of us have an area or two of hair we would rather not manage. Shaving, waxing and plucking are repetitive, often uncomfortable, and can leave ingrown hairs and irritated skin behind.

Laser hair removal takes a different path. Rather than removing hair at the surface, it treats the follicle itself, so a completed series delivers a permanent reduction in hair growth. Patients across Fresno and the Central Valley come to us for exactly that: better use of their time, and skin that stays smooth.

How it works.

We work with gold-standard laser technology that is safe for all skin types and treats the full range of hair densities, from fine to thick. The laser delivers heat energy to the hair follicle, prompting an inflammatory response that moves the hair into its telogen, or resting, phase and arrests its growth.

Because the laser is most effective on hair in its anagen, or growth, phase, and only a portion of your hair is in that phase at any moment, results are built over a series of sessions rather than a single visit. Each treatment reaches the follicles the previous one could not.

What to expect.

Treatments are fast and comfortable. Some redness and swelling over the treated area is normal and typically settles within a few hours, so the visit fits easily into an ordinary day.

Sessions are spaced four to twelve weeks apart, depending on the area being treated. Your practitioner will map out the series with you at the start, so you know the rhythm of your plan before it begins.

Is it right for you.

Laser hair removal works by targeting pigment in the follicle, so it cannot treat grey, white, blond or some red hair colors. Skin tone, on the other hand, is no barrier: the technology we use is safe across all skin types.

The honest starting point is a conversation. Our medical practitioners will confirm the treatment suits your hair and skin, discuss the areas that concern you, and recommend a plan matched to your goals.

Common questions.

  • A completed series permanently reduces hair growth in the treated area. The laser disables follicles it reaches in the growth phase, which is why results build across sessions rather than appearing after one visit.

  • That depends on the area being treated and how your hair responds. Sessions are spaced four to twelve weeks apart, and your practitioner will recommend a series length at your consultation.

  • The laser technology we use is safe for all skin types and treats fine, medium and thick hair. It cannot treat grey, white, blond or some red hair, because those follicles lack the pigment the laser targets.

  • No. Some redness and swelling over the treatment area is expected and usually dissipates within a few hours.
